The Women Behind the First National Dispensary Franchise

As many pay homage to the contributions of incredible women during Women’s History Month, we are here to celebrate all those who walk the walk.

This year, for the first time in the Fortune 500 list's 68-year history, more than 10 percent of Fortune 500 companies are led by women. The Jan. 1, 2023 start dates of five new Fortune 500 chief executives brought the number of female CEOs up to 53, pushing the tally over the long-intact glass ceiling.

At Unity Rd., we burst with pride at the ranks of women that contribute mightily to our leadership team. They bring diverse talent, sharp thinking, and unbridled enthusiasm. Their reputations and robust experience speak for themselves – and do so much more than tick a diversity box. Their tireless efforts, creative wizardry, and industry acumen have fueled innovation at the nation’s first national cannabis dispensary franchise and propelled us toward astounding growth alongside our franchise partners.

Here, we highlight some of the talent that drives our brand—and our industry—forward.

 Fay Powell

Fay Powell is the Director of Education and Training. Since joining the Company in 2019, her role has evolved to ensure that patients and consumers receive extensive product knowledge from franchise partners and their team members while having the best and most educational experience when seeking products that fit their needs. With over 10 years of industry experience across various roles in and outside a dispensary, Powell guides franchise partners in their pursuit of owning and operating a successful and compliant dispensary. Ultimately, reaching more patients through the network of Unity Rd. shops nationwide.

Jayne Levy

Jayne Levy is the Senior Vice President of Communications and has grown with Unity Rd. since the dispensary franchise's inception in 2018. She plays an integral role in the Company with a hand in all facets of communications – spearheading internal and corporate communications, investor relations, public relations, and beyond. Hailing from an extensive franchise-focused PR background, Levy has managed, led, and executed PR efforts for more than 70 franchise brands that span 20 different industries.

Jojo Frey

Jojo Frey joined Unity Rd. in 2021 as Director of Digital Marketing and has since proven to be an invaluable asset to the marketing team, stepping into the position of Vice President of Marketing in 2022. She leads the retail and franchise development marketing efforts for the Unity Rd. brand. Frey has multiple years of marketing initiatives in the cannabis industry under her belt and has in-depth experience with social, email marketing, website, digital ads, and more.

Tracy Timko

Tracy Timko joined the company in 2021 as Director of Franchise Support and has since been promoted to Vice President of Franchise Operations. Timko ensures each Unity Rd. shop is set up for success throughout every operational step of the dispensary opening process and beyond and is one of the key links between the dispensary franchise and its franchise partners. Prior to her current role, Timko led and support franchise operations for multiple brands for 10-plus years, supporting franchisees in various states across the U.S.

This March and year-round, we are profoundly grateful for the contributions of a franchise support team that is potent, brilliant, and effective – and who just so happen to be women!
